This week I’ve been working on Mephiston! Mephiston, originally named Calistarius, and also called the “Lord of Death,” is the Master of the Librarius and the Chief Librarian of the Blood Angels Space Marine Chapter.

I’ve just posted a video showing how to paint the skin on the body, including veins and freckles, of the Mega Gargant (Giant) in the photograph above.

I’ve just posted the two videos for this week.

First up is part 1 for the Black and White video of the chaos warrior from the Dread Pageant warband for Warhammer Underworlds. The concept behind this video is to paint the model in purely black and white so that you have to use light volumes and textures to separate the surfaces out, rather than relying on colour.

The second video is part 3 of Sigvald, and is the final part of his NMM gold armour. After this there will be videos for his head, cloak and freehand shield.

Just added to the site, a of video tutorials on how I painted Naeve Blacktalon, including NMM Gold, her cloak filigree, face, eyes and hair and fur cloak!

Freehand update for Abaddon’s cloak. It still needs a bit of tidying up and more weathering. As you can see, it’s much darker and more faded, with weathering on top. This makes it fit in much better with the style of the painting on the rest of the model. It’s a little bit nerve wracking when you’re weathering over something so small and detailed ?

Another update on the mega gargant (giant!) I’ve done a first pass on some of the body, but it needs a lot more work, including things like veins and freckles.
